Questions

My family doesn’t live in my state, now that I am divorced, can I move with my children to be close to my family?

You may be able to move with your children, but you must first seek agreement from the other parent or obtain court approval. If you and your co-parent cannot agree on your own, then the court will consider whether the move is in the best interests of the children, taking into account factors like the potential benefits of being close to extended family and the impact on the children's relationship with the other parent. It is typically difficult to move out of state with the children unless you have compelling, persuasive reasons why the move is in the children’s best interests.
